How to recieve info on UTM snow closures

Filed Under (Updates) by utmrc on 05-12-2011

Message from the Dean of Student Affairs, Mark Overton:

In severe weather, UTM has a number of options for students to learn about campus-wide cancellation of courses or a ‘closure’ of the campus (noting that police and most residence-related services remain in operation). The easiest way to receive notification is by subscribing to U of T Emergency Alerts, by registering your cell phone number at https://alert.utoronto.ca/callme/ so that the university can send you a voice or text message. Alternatively, you can visit the campus homepage at http://www.utm.utoronto.ca or log into the Blackboard portal where cancellation/closure notices are posted and updated.

UT and UTM try to post daytime cancellation/closure messages before 7 a.m. and evening cancellation/closure messages before 4:30 p.m., although quick and dramatic changes in the weather can result in status changes at any time of day.

Thanks,
Mark
